I’m looking back at my bloggers site archives and man did I explode in writing this year. This is the breakdown:

2012 has definitely been a turbulent year for me. So many changes and a lot more struggles than I’ve dealt with in the past. The difference between this year and years past is that it isn’t as bad because of the writing. Writing helps me get emotions and thoughts out on to paper (or the screen in this case). It helps me to see patterns and to give words to intuitive leaps I have about people and situations. It makes the ground more firm beneath my feet. One day I hope to look back on this blog as a successful artist and say “This is how it all began."

The Soundtracks to My Life

I realized today how big a part music plays in my life. The world was so mundane. I mean straight boring today. The sounds of my life really define my moods and my actions everyday. I forgot my headphone in the morning and the rest of the day was just pure madness. It doesn't make today's suck go away completely but my music does complete me. Thank you to all my favourite artists and thank you to God for the gifts of hearing and music.

Basketball Colors

I had an interesting experience today. Jo, her sisters and I were playing in the park with two children of a family friend. The young boy and I went and shit some hoops on the nearby basketball court. We had a good time. The little snot can trash talk. He told me that my favorite basketball player, Kobe Bryant, sucks and that Steph Curry  was better. He also likes Ronaldo in soccer. We had a disagreement because I'm a Messi fan. It was all in good fun. He even invited me to his birthday party (just so I can buy him Ray Ban glasses of course). All of a sudden he stopped and sat down on the ball. He looks up at me and sighs, "I like your hair." Now my hair is a mess at this point. I usually style it in a side pomoadour, but it's never as full and thick as I want it because I have a mix of straight, wavy, and curly hair, not to mention it is fine hair too.  So I tell the kid that I like his hair too.  The boy had a short curly high top with a grown in fade.
