Hoodie Up

Walking with my hood up, snow falling all around me, my face is in shadows as people crowd around me.
I feel the press of their bodies, their heart beats to the beat of the street. I can see their eyes but they can't see mine. I'm glad for that. I don't want them to see that my loneliness is getting the better of me. I can't control it tonight. It has a life of its own. That parasite sucking the marrow from my bones. It's so cold.
